Eclipse Season AND Mercury Retrograde?! oh my! The Retrograde begins, helping us review, reunite, and rethink until June 3. Mercury Retrograde Mercury--the planet of communication--turns around and starts moving retrograde in the sign of Gemini, making all things re: communication, transport, and technology start acting a little haywire. Think before you speak, learn to listen more, and avoid talking sh*t if things get too dramatic—what goes around always comes back around during a retrograde! This is a stressful time, yes, but it’s a necessary time. Look at it this way: Mercury Retrograde can help you assess who/what really belongs in your life. Why are eclipses a big deal? every so often, the moon's orbit creates a powerful alignment with the sun, forming a potent lunation known as an eclipse. Eclipses are basically like supercharged new and full moons. When there’s a new moon, you can expect beginnings in different areas of your life, while you could have something end or come to a close around full moons. You’ll experience the same effects with eclipses, just ramped up. Eclipses often speed things up, and they’ll push you in the direction you should be going. For example, if you’ve been stuck at a job where you’re miserable for months, when an eclipse comes around, you could get laid off or suddenly decide to quit, giving you the opportunity to find a job you actually like. On April 30th we had a partial solar eclipse in Taurus and on Monday, May 16th, we'll have a total lunar eclipse in Scorpio. Taurus is a reliable earth sign, and Scorpio is a passionate water sign. Because Scorpio rules sex, death, and transformation, the eclipses this year ask us to evolve.
